Separation tends to arrive as several problems at once: where the children will live, who remains in the home, and how property and superannuation are divided. Our family lawyers also act on divorce applications and de facto separations. Fees, before you begin.
The firm has published a court filing fee of $900 for an Application for Divorce. A concession holder, or a person who shows financial hardship, may pay a reduced filing fee. That $900 is the court’s fee, not the solicitor’s fee. The solicitor’s fee is estimated in writing at the consultation. Eligible clients can ask about JustFund, a funder the firm has partnered with. JustFund may offer a line of credit for family law fees and related expenses, with repayment deferred until settlement. JustFund decides who qualifies.
